about me
Pleasure to meet you
Hello, my name is Samira, and welcome to my world of empowering children through education. My journey has been fueled by a fervent passion for working with children, particularly those grappling with reading and writing challenges. As an educator, my mission is simple yet profound: to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child can discover the joy of learning, regardless of their abilities.
I am fortunate to be armed with a strong educational foundation. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in literacy. My training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a technique specifically designed to help struggling readers, has been a crucial tool in my educational arsenal. It has empowered me to approach each child as a unique learner, adjusting my teaching strategies to suit their individual learning style.
My professional experience spans diverse roles and learning environments. I’ve had the privilege of teaching children up to Grade 6 and serving as the Head of Elementary at a private school in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Every position has honed my understanding of children’s educational needs, reinforcing my belief in the transformative power of personalized education.
Over the past 3 years, I embarked on a new venture that perfectly blends my passion for education and my desire to make a difference. I founded the Centre for Student Success at another Toronto private school. This Centre is a testament to my unwavering dedication towards student success, providing targeted support for students who need it most.
My commitment to fostering literacy skills extends beyond the classroom walls, and I firmly believe that everyone deserves the gift of literacy. As I move forward in my career, my goal remains clear: to illuminate the path of learning, making it accessible for all students, and to inspire in them a lifelong love of learning.
Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I invite you to explore the rest of this space to learn more about my work, my mission, and how we can work together to make a difference in children’s lives.
Together, let’s open the world of learning, one child at a time.

quotes that resonate
“When inclusive education is fully embraced, we abandon the idea that children have to become ‘normal’ in order to contribute to the world. We begin to look beyond typical ways of becoming valued members of the community, and in doing so, begin to realize the achievable goal of providing all children with an authentic sense of belonging.”― Norman Kunc
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”― Nelson Mandela
“Fairness does not mean everyone gets the same. Fairness means everyone gets what they need.”― Rick Riordan
